Building a Health Bridge Across Mountains and Seas: Shijiazhuang Hetaiheng Hospital and Cameroon’s ODERIC Sign Cooperation Agreement
SHIJIAZHUANG, Oct. 11, 2026 — Shijiazhuang Hetaiheng Hospital and Cameroon-based ODERIC signed a cooperation agreement on the morning of October 11, officially launching in-depth cooperation in transnational healthcare and adding another concrete example of China-Africa health cooperation. The ceremony was held at the hospital in golden autumn, a season of abundant harvests.
Attending were Mr. Eric and Ms. Yolene from Cameroon; President Zhao Zhiye, President Shi Wei, President Tang Junting, Director Lu Pengfei, Director Wang Yuegang, General Manager Guo Hongtao, and other hospital leaders and experts from Shijiazhuang Hetaiheng Hospital; and President Fei Liwei of Shijiazhuang Rheumatism Hospital. Guests gathered to witness the occasion.
The ceremony began with an English-language promotional video introducing Shijiazhuang Hetaiheng Hospital to the Cameroonian guests. The host then introduced ODERIC, which is headquartered in Guangzhou and focuses on China-Africa healthcare and economic and trade exchanges. Drawing on deep insight into African healthcare needs and resource networks on both sides, ODERIC connects Chinese hospitals and specialists with African patients, helping them access advanced Chinese medical technology and expert care.
Mr. Eric shared his views on the cooperation. He said ODERIC aims to be a trusted partner in developing economic and institutional ties between China and Africa. In healthcare, the company has developed the ODERIC INTERNATIONAL HEALTH digital platform to coordinate the entire journey of international patients, from initial requests for assistance to post-treatment follow-up. The platform is built around four main participants — referring partners, network managers, hospitals, and platform administrators — and uses dedicated workspaces to centralize case tracking, appointment coordination, quotation management, and related functions. Mr. Eric stressed that the platform will not replace the hospital’s medical system or professional judgment. Instead, it is an administrative coordination and case-tracking tool that can help the hospital build more effective relationships with international patients and referral partners.
President Zhao Zhiye said in his speech that as global health efforts continue to advance, deepening China-Africa health cooperation and jointly building a Global Community of Health for All are central to China-Africa friendly cooperation in the new era and important to people’s livelihoods. With 2026 designated as a year of deepening China-Africa people-to-people and cultural exchanges, building cross-border medical channels and promoting mutual connectivity in diagnosis and treatment have become an inevitable trend in transnational healthcare. He noted that the signing was a natural choice based on complementary strengths and shared visions. The hospital will uphold its patient-centered service philosophy, work with Mr. Eric and Ms. Yolene’s team, open up the full chain of technology, services, and resources, precisely match the medical needs of Chinese and African patients, and extend high-quality cross-border medical services to more people.
Amid warm applause, President Zhao Zhiye and Mr. Eric signed the cooperation agreement. President Zhao Zhiye and President Shi Wei then presented the “Cooperative Partner” plaque to Mr. Eric and Ms. Yolene and gave them commemorative gifts. The participants posed for a group photo.
The cooperation is not only a strategic choice based on complementary advantages and resource sharing but also a shared commitment to the mission and responsibility of medicine. Under ODERIC’s deployment plan, cooperation will begin in Cameroon, gradually build a referral network, promote the hospital’s services, and expand to other African markets based on initial results. Both sides will use healthcare cooperation as a platform to deepen China-Africa medical and pharmaceutical cultural exchange, promote traditional Chinese medicine, enrich China-Africa health cooperation, and contribute to a Global Community of Health for All.
The ceremony concluded in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Both sides said they will take the cooperation as a new starting point, keep coordination, trust, and patient needs at the center, and jointly build a lasting bridge between African patients and Chinese medical expertise.
